Paddle like a Local With these easy Steps

1 / Choose Your Equipment

We have many options to fit every customer's needs! Not sure what to choose? Don’t sweat it. Give us a call and we can walk you through your options.

  • Large Paddleboards (Inflatable)

  • Single Kayaks (Hard-shell and Inflatable)

2 / Pick Your Day, Time, and Reservation Type

We are primarily reservation based and can be available for pick-ups and drop-offs from 7am-7pm, 7 days a week( Winter hours vary see bottom of page). Pick the day and time you’d like to pick up and how long you would like your equipment for.

  • One Day: Returns are due back the same day by 7pm or the next morning between 7-9am.

  • Night Before Pick-Up: Pick up your equipment the evening before you want to be out on the water and keep it for the whole next day. Returns due by 7pm the next day or 7-9am the following day. This allows you to be out on the water as early as possible in the morning.

  • Two Day, Three Day, Week Long Rentals

3 / Check for Add-Ons

Let us know if you need a tonto pass, a seat on your paddleboard, a waterproof speaker, sunscreen, etc. Feel free to check in with us and ask for additional add-ons!

4 / Pick-Up Your Gear
  • Pull up to our shop and head into our front office. We’ll be here to walk you through our closest paddle spots - the Salt River, Lake Saguaro, Canyon Lake, etc. We’ll give you maps with personalized recommendations and make sure you’re comfortable with where you’re going. We will also give you recommendations on the right rental gear for you and teach you how to use the gear if needed!

  • We will head out to your vehicle and help you get loaded up! There’s no need to have a truck or a roof rack, as we use a universal block and strap system to securely place gear on the roof of your vehicle. If you have a convertible or would like the gear deflated for any other reason, we have inflatable kayaks and paddleboards that roll up and fit in bags!

5 / Have a Blast!

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Check out our Places to Explore page, the Trip Checklist and FAQ pages to help plan your trip.

6/ Return Your Gear

Load your car back up (you can always choose to deflate gear to return it) and head back to the shop. We’ll be here to meet you or will give you instructions for self-returns. Returns are due by 7pm or the next morning from 7-9am.

The Shuttle Dilemma

Do you offer shuttles? Do I have to have two cars to float the Salt River?

We are not able to provide shuttles due to forest service restrictions, but don’t panic! The easiest way to float the river is by staging two vehicles and shuttling yourself. However, as long as you have one vehicle, we have solutions to get you back out of the water. To float the Lower Salt River with one vehicle, we personally use rideshare or the tubing shuttle busses to return to our vehicles, so we can attest that they are reliable options! Don’t want to bother with shuttling? The lakes are a perfect choice then.

I don't have a truck or a roof rack. Can I still transport equipment?

While you do have to transport the equipment to your destination yourself, there’s no need to have a truck or a roof rack system on your vehicle. We safely put equipment on all kinds of vehicles. For cars, we use thick foam blocks on the roof to protect your vehicle and strap up through the door frames to keep everything nice and secure. The equipment never touches your car and it’s perfectly safe for rental cars as well. If you have a truck, loading equipment is a breeze. We just ask that you have your bed (mostly) empty. We have plenty of straps to secure the equipment back there. Have a convertible or are uncomfortable putting the equipment on the roof for some other reason? We have both inflatable kayaks and paddleboards for you. They roll up neatly and fit in a bag with your other rental gear. A hand pump is free with your rental equipment upon request and an electric car air pump
