Saguaro Lake Kayak & Paddle Board Rentals

Saguaro Lake is one of the best paddling lakes in Arizona—towering canyon walls, calm coves, and 22 miles of shoreline to explore. Because there isn’t a big, year-round kayak or paddle board business at the main recreation sites, most visitors either bring their own gear or rent in Mesa and drive up.

That’s where Lower Salt Rentals comes in. We’re a family-owned shop in northeast Mesa, just minutes from the Salt River and on the way to Saguaro Lake, with full-day kayak and paddle board rentals starting at $35

What makes Saguaro Lake great for paddling?
  • Scenery: Steep canyon walls, desert cliffs, and classic saguaro cactus views right from the water

  • Protected coves: Great for newer paddlers to get comfortable away from boat wakes

  • Multiple recreation sites: Picnic tables, restrooms, and designated swim areas near several access points

  • Wildlife: Watch for birds, fish, and desert critters along the shore

  • If you’re looking for a calm morning paddle or sunset session close to town, Saguaro Lake is hard to beat.

Passes & Planning for Saguaro Lake
Saguaro Lake is in Tonto National Forest, so most recreation sites and parking areas require a Tonto Pass or similar day-use permit. Be sure to grab the right pass before you head out, and always double-check current rules and any closures on the Tonto National Forest site.

Book your Saguaro Lake kayak or paddle board rental with Lower Salt Rentals, pick up your gear in Mesa, and enjoy a full day on one of Arizona’s most scenic lakes—without paying on-water hourly prices or worrying about how to haul everything.
